PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that can change a platen gap with high accuracy with a simple structure without complicating a hardware structure.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus (11) includes a recording head 19 adapted to perform recording with respect to a recording medium (P), a driving mechanism (51, 61, 71, 81, 104, 105) that moves the recording head 19 in a moving direction (Z) approaching to or separating from the recording medium (P), and a control section (100) that determines a driving amount relating to one drive on the basis of comparison between a first moving direction (Z) relating to the one drive and a second moving direction (Z) relating to a drive nearest to the one drive when the one drive is performed by the driving mechanism. The driving amount in a case where it is determined that the first moving direction and the second moving direction are different from each other, is different from the driving amount in a case where it is determined that the first moving direction and the second moving direction are coincident with each other. |
