PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the effect of restricting an excessive temperature rise outside a paper passage area and restrict effect on a magnetic field during heating, in a fixing device of IH system.SOLUTION: A fixing device 14 forms magnetic paths around an induction heat coil 52 by using an arch core 54, a side core 56, and a center core 58, and induction heats a heat belt 48. A shielding member 60 is provided on the external face of the center core 58. Switching between the magnetic paths is carried out by rotating the center core 58, thereby moving the shielding member 60 between a retracting position and a shielding position. A magnetic adjustment member 90 formed from a series of plural endless ring parts as a whole is arranged between the center core 58 and the heating belt 48 and between the induction heat coil 52 and the heat belt 48. While the magnetic adjustment member 90 passes a magnetic field when the shielding member 60 is in the retracting position, it shields magnetism by using all the ring-like parts when the shielding member 60 is in the shielding position. |
