PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting chip removal method by which cutting chips can be prevented from flying into the environment in a punch press, and to provide a cutting tool used for the method.SOLUTION: A method is for discharging cutting chips generated at an underside of a work when cutting by the cutting tool mounted on a die holder in the punch press. A tool housing 13 of the cutting tool 1 has a rotating tool 23 mounted rotatably thereon, and an air motor 15 to rotate the rotating tool 23 is provided in the tool housing 13. In the method, discharged air from the air motor 15 is ejected to a position where the work is processed by the cutting rotating tool 23 or the discharged air is ejected downward to a portion between an inner circumferential surface of a die mounting hole 5 in the die holder 3 and an outer circumferential surface of the tool housing 13, and thereby suction power is allowed to act on the processing position to remove the cutting chips from the processing position. |
