PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric construction machine capable of increasing the degree of freedom in mounting a motor control device for operating an electric motor (feed control) while reducing cost.SOLUTION: An electric motor 9 for driving a hydraulic pump 11 is fed via a feeder cable 21. A motor control device 23 for performing feed control of the electric motor 9 includes a safety circuit 29 provided in the middle of the feeder cable 21 for protecting the electric motor 9 from electrical abnormality, a starting/stopping circuit 30 provided in the middle of the feeder cable 21 for starting/stopping the electric motor 9, a signal output circuit 31 for outputting a signal output from the safety circuit 29 to a controller 39, and a starting/stopping control circuit 34 for switching over the starting/stopping circuit 30 on the basis of the signal and the like from a key switch 35. The safety circuit 29 and the starting/stopping circuit 30 are stored in a power box 24, and the signal output circuit 31 and the starting/stopping control circuit 34 are stored in a control box 25. |
