A female terminal (10) is provided with: a barrel (14) into which a male terminal (11) is inserted; a plurality of first elastic pieces (23) that project from a bottom wall (15) of the barrel (14) toward the inside of the barrel (14), the first elastic pieces (23) being aligned in a direction that intersects the direction in which the male terminal (11) is inserted into the barrel (14); and a plurality of second contact members (28) disposed in positions corresponding to the plurality of first elastic pieces (23) in the barrel (14) so that the male terminal (11) is sandwiched between the plurality of first elastic pieces (23) and the second contact members (28). Consequently, the male terminal (11) is pressed with an optimal contact pressure by the second contact members (28) since an optimal contact pressure is applied to the male terminal (11) by the first elastic pieces (23).
