The present invention relates to an intra prediction method and apparatus using the intra prediction method. The intra prediction method according to the present invention comprises the following steps of: deriving a current prediction mode as a prediction mode for a current block; constructing samples around the current block from available reference samples; filtering the available reference samples; and generating prediction samples for the current block based on the filtered available reference samples. In the filtering step, filtering can be performed using an available reference sample which is located in the prediction direction of the current prediction mode and the given number of available reference samples which are adjacent to the prediction direction of the current prediction mode.
