An apparatus and method for measuring and marking level and plumb is providently disclosed herein. The multi-function level includes one or more adjustment devices which allow angular and/or translational adjustment of the level. One or multiple adjustment devices can be disposed on one or both ends of the level for the desired adjustability. The adjuster can be disposed against a work piece via a non-slip backing. The adjustable translational or angular movement is provided by a cam, wedge, dial, rack and pinion, or screw.
