Each of main volume flow measuring devices (3.0, 4.0) and each of comparison flow measuring devices (3.1, 3.2, 4.1-4.3) possess a separate signal input for each of main lines (5.0, 6.0) and each of bypasses (5.1, 6.1). Each of closure units (1, 2) e.g. magnet valves, includes an own integrated control motor, which is individually controllable by each closure unit. The control device includes a tone generator for signalizing a comparison threshold exceedance. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a volume damage protection device.
