The damper has a cylindrical element (4) e.g. cylindrical ring, equipped with a layer of a supple material (5) on a cylindrical peripheral surface (41) of the element. The material exhibits properties of adhesion with materials of a wheel brake piston (3) and of the cylindrical element. The cylindrical element is positioned inside an axial cavity (30) of the piston while the layer of supple material is in contact with an interior wall (31) of the cavity. The layer is made of a viscous or viscoelastic material. The cylindrical element is made of a metallic or plastic material.
