An electric fence energiser circuit for producing an output voltage from an input voltage is discussed. The energiser circuit includes an oscillator 1 to cycle a switch 2 between active and inactive states, the switch may be a BJT transistor or a MOSFET or the like. On activation of the switch by the oscillator, current is built up in an inductor 3. When the switch is deactivated, a pulse of current from inductor 3 passes through a blocking capacitor 4 and a rectifier diode 5 to charge a discharge capacitor 6. A second diode 7 stops the blocking capacitor from becoming charged over many oscillator cycles. When the oscillator ceases cycling, DC current is prevented from passing through the inductor to the discharge capacitor by the blocking capacitor. 3 4 5 DC Output DC Power In 7;K Oscillator Figure 3 |
