PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of specifying a direction of an image of a document read by reading means for reading an image of a document, and printing an image in the same direction as the specified direction of the image of the document.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: conveying means for conveying a document; reading means for reading a document conveyed by the conveying means; specification means for specifying a direction of the document according to an image obtained by the reading means reading the document; determination means for determining a direction of an image to be printed on the document according to the direction of the document specified by the specification means; and printing means for printing the image on the document in the direction of the image determined by the determination means.
