The method involves fastening a magnetic ring (26) at a rotor (2) of an electric motor, and magnetizing the fastened ring. The ring is securely introduced into the rotor by using magnet holders (22). A mockup element is inserted into an aperture of the ring for magnetizing the fastened ring. The mockup element is removed from the aperture of the magnetized ring. The magnetized ring and magnetized core elements (30) inserted into the aperture of the magnetized ring are connected with each other by a connecting process. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a locator magnet for displaying a position of a rotor in an electric motor (2) an electric motor.
