PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit liquid remaining on a side surface and an ejection surface of a head from moving to the vicinity of an ejection port because of jam occurring thereafter.SOLUTION: A head (P) for ejecting pre-coating solution, and a head (K) for ejecting ink droplets are arranged on an upstream side and on a downstream side in a sheet conveying direction, respectively. Every time the number of sheets having passed under the head (K) exceeds 100, the number of jamming times is incremented (S103). When jam is detected, a user removes the jammed sheet (S107). Thereafter, when the number of jamming times is not three times (S111: NO), purging operation and wiping operation for wiping the ejection surface by a wiper are performed once by once (S114) and the number of jamming times is incremented, and, when the number of jamming times is three times (S111: YES), the purging operation and the wiping operation are repeated three times (S112), and the number of jamming times is reset. |
