A motor control system comprises: an upper level ECU which controls a wheel drive unit and to which power supply is stopped when an IG switch is turned off; and a motor control device which receives a PWM command signal from the upper level ECU to control the motor for a cooling blower. The upper level ECU modulates the pulse duty ratio of the PWM command signal in accordance with the target rotation speed of the motor and modulates the pulse cycle of the PWM command signal in accordance with the continuing operation time of the motor, to send the PWM command signal to the motor control device. The motor control device demodulates the target rotation speed and the continuing operation time from the received PWM command signal to control the rotation speed of the motor, while stopping the rotation of the motor if the time for which the PWM signal has yet to be received exceeds the continuing operation time.
|
