PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove water from an aqueous solid fuel efficiently with a small amount of solvent, as compared with a conventional dipping method.SOLUTION: An apparatus 100 for drying a solid fuel includes: a steam generating part 110 for generating steam of a water-soluble solvent (for example, methanol) which has lower boiling point than water; and a contact part 130 for bringing the steam into contact with aqueous solid fuels (for example, peat, lignite, brown coal, and subbituminous coal), to remove water from the aqueous solid fuel. Thus the aqueous solid fuel can be dried efficiently with a small amount of solvent. |
