METHOD FOR PRODUCING IODINE SEED FOR TREATING EYE DISEASE OR CANCER AND IODINE SEED PRODUCED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for adsorbing I-125 on a substrate for cancer treatment and a method for producing an I-125 seed using the same.SOLUTION: A method for producing an iodine seed includes using an intermediate to which a phosphate-based (PO), oxalate-based (CO) or arsenate-based (AsO) anion is introduced in which the substitution effect of iodine (I-125) is three to five times excellent than that of an intermediate to which a presently used chlorine anion (Cl) is introduced. The effect can regulate the radioactivity amount during production of the iodine seed and the iodine seed can be produced within a quicker time. Radioactive iodine remaining in a solution is reduced as a result of an excellent adsorption amount, the amount of the radioactive iodine (I-125) to be disposed of can be reduced and the method has merits of its great effect in an environmental aspect.
