[Problem] To appropriately estimate the time during which polarization in a battery unit is eliminated. [Solution] A concentration distribution in the active material of a battery unit is calculated using a diffusion equation, and when it is assumed that the battery unit is not charged or discharged, a first polarization elimination time taken for the concentration distribution in the active material to fall in an allowable range is calculated. A concentration distribution in the electrolyte of the battery unit is calculated using a diffusion equation, and when it is assumed that the battery unit is not charged or discharged, a second polarization elimination time taken for the concentration distribution in the electrolyte to fall in an allowable range is calculated. When the time during which the battery unit is not charged or discharged is longer than the longer one of the first polarization elimination time and the second polarization elimination time, it is determined that the polarization of the battery unit is eliminated. |
