<p>A crossroad pedestrian and vehicle accessible bridge-and-tunnel-combined interchange, which is a modular transportation facility for road traffic at a crossroad section, comprising a longitudinal road (1) and a transverse road (2). The longitudinal road (1) and the transverse road (2) intersect to form the crossroad section. The longitudinal road (1) and the transverse road (2) are provided at both sides thereof with sidewalks (6). The sidewalks (6) intersect on a same ground level with the crossroad section where an elliptic roundabout (8) is provided to allow pedestrians to walk freely at the crossroad without being interfered by vehicles, thus giving priority to the right-of-way the pedestrians. The longitudinal road (1) is provided at a level below the intersection of the sidewalks (6) of the crossroad section with a tunnel (5) for vehicles going straight. The transverse road (2) is provided at a level above the intersection of the sidewalks (6) of the crossroad section with an arc-shaped overpass (4) giving priority to vehicles going straight. Also provided on the level above the sidewalks (6) of the crossroad section is a ring-shaped overpass (3) allowing for comprehensively accessible passage of turning vehicles making direct right turns and annular left turns. The crossroad is free of crosswalks and traffic lights.</p> |
