PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method of acetone capable of preventing blockage in a pipe or a heat exchanger reboiler due to deposition of a neutralization salt and capable of reducing drainage.SOLUTION: A purification method of acetone includes an alkali treatment process, a neutralization process, and a rectification process; and a neutralization salt in a second fraction satisfies a relationship of an expression (1): concentration (wt.%) of the neutralization salt<solubility (wt.%) of the neutralization salt (when the total weight of the second fraction is 100 wt.%). In the alkali treatment process: water and alkali are brought into contact with acetone including aldehydes to obtain a first fraction. In the neutralization process: a part of a fourth fraction and an acidic substance are brought into contact with the first fraction to obtain a second fraction including water, acetone and the neutralization salt. In the rectification process: the second fraction is subjected to distillation to separate it into a third fraction including purified acetone and the fourth fraction including water, acetone and the neutralization salt. |
