摘要 The present invention provides a process for the highly efficient catalytic conversion of a cellulose raw material to a diol. In the process, cellulose compounds, such as straw, a wood flour, etc., as raw materials are subjected to one-step catalytic conversion with a composite catalyst composed of three out of an organic or inorganic acid (except a tungsten-containing acid), an oxide of a transition metal from groups 8, 9, and 10, such as iron, cobalt, nickel, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, iridium, platinum and tungsten, a tungsten sulfide, a tungsten chloride, a tungsten hydroxide, tungsten bronze, tungstic acid, a tungsten-containing acid salt, metatungstic acid, a metatungstate, para-tungstic acid, a paratungstate, peroxytungstic acid, a peroxytungstate, a tungsten-containing heteropolyacid and under hydrothermal conditions of a temperature of 120-300 °C and a hydrogen pressure of 1-13 MPa, so as to achieve the preparation of a diol, such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc., from a cellulose raw material, with high efficiency, high selectivity, and a high yield. The reaction provided in the present invention has the advantages that the raw material is a renewable resource and there is no competition with human beings in terms of food and land. At the same time, the reaction atoms in this reaction are highly economic. In addition, compared with other technologies wherein biomass is used as a raw material for the preparation of a polyol, the process has advantages, such as a short reaction time, good selectivity for a diol, and a high space-time yield.
