In order to increase image display quality and improve usability without sacrificing flexibility of a flexible tube, this head-mounted display device is provided with a holder which is mounted on the user's head, and a display unit (21) which is supported by said holder and has a display element (23), wherein the holder is provided with: a first housing (10) which has an electronic substrate (12) including at least a drive circuit (12b) for generating a drive signal to drive the display element (23) of the display unit (21); a second housing (20) which fixes the display unit (21); and a flexible support unit (30) which has a wire (32) electrically connecting the drive circuit (12b) and the display element (23) and which connects the first housing (10) and the second housing (20).
