COTTON PLANT EVENT A2-6 AND PRIMER AND METHOD FOR USE IN DETECTION THEREOF

Provided in the present invention are a bollworm-resistant cotton transformation event and a characteristic sequence thereof, and, a primer and method for use in detection of the event. A transformation event A2-6-carrying cotton plant comprises on the first set of chromosomes the event, that is, a bonding between an inserted exogenous DNA sequence and a cotton genome DNA sequence. Utilization of the inserted exogenous DNA sequence and a flanking DNA sequence of a bonding area on the cotton genome allows for designing of the detection primer for use in specificity detection of event A2-6. The method for detecting event A2-6 is capable of providing an application utilizing the plant event for breeding with a convenient means for tracking the specific gene insertion event, while the specific gene insertion event can serve as a molecular marker for use in increasing the efficiency of breeding work.
