The present invention discloses an apparatus for extracting a predicative concept expression of a term in a document and an operation method for same. The present invention comprises: a conversion processing unit for designating one or more words included in a sentence as predicates on the basis of a grammatical relationship between words comprising the sentence, and designating as arguments one or more words related to each of the words designated as the predicates, so as to extract a predicate argument tuple which corresponds to the sentence; an information saving unit for matching the predicate argument tuple, which is extracted and delivered from the conversion processing unit, with each sentence and saving same; and an information search unit for receiving from the conversion processing unit one or more predicate argument tuples which are extracted from sentences corresponding to a query word, and extracting from the information saving unit a sentence including at least one of the predicate argument tuples which are received, thereby substantially enabling a conceptual approach to documents, which has been fragmented thus far, and enabling a broader information approach which includes a terminology concept desired by a user.
