A method and system for multi-screen interaction are provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The present invention relates to the communication technology field, and solves the problem in the prior art that, when performing the multi-screen interaction, if the set-top box or the home media server is offline, the multi-screen interaction can not be performed. The method includes the following steps: a source device sends the device parameters of the source device to an object device which accesses to the local area network where the source device locates, and receives the device parameters of the object device sent by the object device; the source device sends media information of the media content to the object device; the object device requests the media content from the network server according to the media information and the device parameters of the object device; the network server sends the media content corresponding to the device parameters of the object device to the object device according to the device parameters of the object device; the object device inquires the play state of the media content being played by the source device, and plays the media content according to the play state. The present invention is suitable for multi-screen interaction of video. |
