Disclosed are a method, device and terminal for alerting and tracking an event on a social network. The method comprises: acquiring an event alerting message over a social network; within each predefined alerting period, sending the event alerting message to an event alerting recipient; and determining an execution state of the event alerting recipient for an alerted event corresponding to the event alerting message, and executing an operation corresponding to the execution state, wherein the execution state comprises non-execution, in process of execution and completion of execution. The present invention can achieve the effect that an event alerting sender tracks the state of an event alerting recipient who handles an event.
