PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine including a hopper mechanism which is unaffected by a fabric thickness.SOLUTION: A feed foot 20 attached to a feed foot bar 22 is used for feeding a fabric 18 in a feed direction T. A presser 21 is used for clamping and fixing the fabric on a support plate during a holding period within a stitch formation period. A hopper mechanism 19 is connected to the feed foot and the presser. The hopper mechanism for alternate upward and downward hopping of the feed foot and the presser with respect to the support plate is connected to the feed foot bar, a presser bar 23, and a hopper drive 25 via a hopper element 24. A joint connection part of the hopper element and the hopper drive via a drive element 32 is constituted by using a guide groove 33 so as to cause the feed foot bar and the presser bar to be moved relatively to the drive element and to be moved relatively along a movement path perpendicular to the support plate according to the thickness of the fabric without the operation of the hopper element. |
