PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for an electrical machine and a manufacturing method thereof which prevent a magnet from cracking when subjected to excessive tensile stress during rotation.SOLUTION: A rotor (1) comprises a rotor core assembly (2) secured to a shaft (3). The rotor core assembly comprises a magnet (4), and an end cap (5) secured to an end (9) of the magnet. Each of the magnet and the end cap has a bore (8, 12). The shaft extends into the bores of the magnet and the end cap. The end cap forms an interference fit with the shaft, and the magnet forms a clearance fit with the shaft. An adhesive (18) is located in the clearance between the magnet and the shaft. The end cap is secured to the magnet by an adhesive different from the adhesive located between the magnet and the shaft. |
