PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for packing a recording apparatus, capable of transporting while sufficiently restricting displacement of a movable part in association with an impact from the outside, and to provide a method for packing a recording apparatus.SOLUTION: A structure for packing a recording apparatus includes: a base material 55 positioned on a vertically lower side of a printer 11 to support the printer 11; and a string material 59 for restricting displacement of a roll paper-storing case 13 that is supported so as to be displaceable between a higher position A1 and a lower position A2 while being biased to a side of the higher position A1 from a side of the lower position A2 in the printer 11. The string material 59 couples the base material 55 and the roll paper-storing case 13 to each other to restrict the displacement of the roll paper-storing case 13 at a restricting position A3 between the higher position A1 and the lower position A2 while resisting against a biasing force on the side of the higher position A1.
