PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of supplying a proper amount of light to a surrounding area even when the surrounding area is extremely bright in a self-generating type light emitting device transmitting light.SOLUTION: An organic EL device 1 of this invention includes: a translucent substrate 10; a solar cell layer 20 which is provided on a surface of the substrate 10, converts a part of light entering the substrate 10 into electric power, and at least partially transmits the other part of the light; and an organic EL layer 30 which is provided on a rear surface of the substrate 10, shields the light penetrating the solar cell layer 20 and the substrate 10, and is electrically connected with the solar cell layer 20. In a first portion 11 of the substrate 10, the solar cell layer 20 is provided on a front surface and the organic EL layer 30 is provided on a rear surface. In a second portion 12 of the substrate 10, the solar cell layer 20 is provided on a front surface and the organic EL layer 30 is not provided on a rear surface. |
