[Class 35] In a cycle dynamo, the stator core 1 on which the coil 5 is wound has imbricated poles 2, 3 overhanging at the same end of the core and adapted to co-operate with a rotary magnet 8, a cap 11, locating a cover 12, being secured to one end of the core. A tyre-driven pulley 13 is screwed to the rotor spindle 7 which rotates in bushes 6 inside the core. The rotor 8 is secured as by soft alloy 9 to the spindle and a washer 10 presents a smooth surface to the bush. A labyrinth 11a, 13a excludes dirt from the pulley end bearing and oil is supplied to passages 15, 16 which are normally sealed by a screw 17. In a modification the rotor spindle does not pass through the core but the poles are supported by an extension of the rotor bearing bush.</p> |
