PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology relating to a projection type display device.SOLUTION: A projection type display device comprises in a single housing: a projection optical unit that projects and displays an image; a recognition unit that recognizes behavior of a user relating to processing of the image; a control unit that creates and edits a drawing image on the basis of the behavior of the user recognized by the recognition unit, superimposes a base image that is a background image of the drawing image on the drawing image to create an edition image, and projects and displays the edition image as a projection and display image by using the projection optical unit; and a storage unit that stores the edition image used as the projection and display image.
