The opening (4) has a reinforcing element i.e. door frame (1), provided in a support structure (2) i.e. tower, of a wind energy plant. The reinforcing element is produced from a rolled and/or forged semi-finished material. The reinforcing element includes a prewelding projection, which represents a thickness transition from the reinforcing element to the support structure, where the opening is formed by a door and the reinforcing element in the support structure. The reinforcing element is adapted to diameter and wall thickness of the support structure in a region of the opening.
