<p>The invention relates to pipe connections and, more specifically, to a pipe connection assembly, a method for connecting a pipe to a fitting, and also a nut and a tool for assembling a pipe connection with a fitting. The pipe connection assembly comprises: a fitting with a connecting portion; a sleeve; and a nut with an internal shoulder which is oriented away from the fitting, wherein the sleeve has a shoulder which is oriented towards the fitting, and the inside diameter of the shoulder of the nut is less than the diameter of the shoulder of the sleeve. According to the method, the sleeve is mounted on a pipe, the end of the pipe is expanded, the connecting portion of the fitting is inserted into the end of the pipe, the sleeve is moved along the pipe in the direction of the fitting, and the sleeve is press-fitted to the pipe at the point of connection between the pipe and the connecting portion by screwing home the nut on a threaded portion of the fitting. The claimed tool serves to simplify and expedite the assembly of a connection and, more particularly, the tightening of a nut. The result is the easy assembly of a connection without the need for a complex specialized tool, as well as high reliability and leaktightness.</p> |
