PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor in which weight of a vane can be reduced without changing the length of the vane.SOLUTION: A gas compressor includes an elliptical cylinder chamber, a rotor which is rotatably arranged in the cylinder chamber, vanes which are provided in a freely advanceable/retractable manner in vane grooves formed in the rotor and which project to an inner wall side of the cylinder chamber with the rotation of the rotor to thereby compress refrigerant, and a rotating drive shaft for transmitting the rotating drive force to the rotor. The vane groove comprises an opening edge formed on the outer circumferential side of the rotor, a vane housing part in which the vane is housed in a freely advanceable/retractable manner, and a back pressure chamber which is provided at a deepest part of the vane housing part and applies projecting pressure to the vane. A cutoff part is provided on a vane bottom surface on the back pressure chamber side in a direction opposite to the rotational direction of the rotor. |
