The invention relates to a valve actuation device for an internal combustion engine. The invention encompasses the provision of a valve, which is of multi-part configuration, and of a valve guide for receiving the valve. Here, a valve shank and a valve rod of the valve are movable axially relative to one another. Furthermore, in the valve guide, there is movably arranged an actuation element which prevents and/or inhibits an axial movement of the valve shank and/or of the valve rod.
