An objective of the present invention is to make it easier to implement a very high-resolution liquid-crystal display device with a 30-inch or greater diagonal and a resolution of 100ppi or greater. Provided is a direct-view liquid-crystal display device, comprising a display unit in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a matrix, and the diagonal of the display unit is 30 inches or more. The resolution of the display unit is 100 pixels per inch (ppi) or more. First through fourth pixels are included in the plurality of pixels, wherein one of the first through fourth pixels is an RG type configured of a red subpixel and a green subpixel, and another of the first through fourth pixels is a BH type configured of a blue subpixel and either a green, yellow, or white subpixel. |
