PURPOSE: A UI(User Interface) device using a location of a scale icon and a rhythm pattern and a locking setting method in the user interface device are provided to supply a complex password system based on a location of a touched scale pattern and the combination of the rhythm pattern, thereby increasing security of a function application. CONSTITUTION: A locking information storage unit(110) combines and stores scale information inputted by a user and rhythm pattern information recognized by the scale information. A scale icon display unit(120) displays a scale icon which has a different scale pattern by location on a display screen. A locking information recognition unit(130) recognizes a location of the scale icon in response to the touch of the user and a rhythm pattern of the location. A locking information combination unit(140) generates locking information by combining the location and the rhythm pattern. A locking information determination unit(150) determines coincidence by combining the locking information of the locking information combination unit with combination of the scale information and the rhythm pattern information stored in the locking information storage unit.
