<p>A framework of a moveable wall comprising a plurality of frame members 10, one or more frame members comprising an open channel 15 suitable for receiving a detachable component, e.g. a seal, and means for connecting the frame members. Preferably the framework is provided in kit form. The connecting means may comprise corner cleats or a recess 21 formed at an end of a frame member for receiving the end of another frame member. There may be provided a pair of opposed flanges 17 within the or each channel configured to retain a concave or convex seal (73, 71 figure 10). Also claimed is a seal mechanism, which may comprise a housing, an actuator 120 and a drive arm 123 moveable via an electrical motor 125 to act on a sealing surface, and an adapter member providing a U or L-shaped mounting surface for a glass panel. The apparatus provides a manoeuvrable partition, for example for an office, with soundproofing qualities.</p> |
