<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell remarkably reducing contact resistance between a gas diffusion layer and a separator and enhancing cell performance, in high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly in which a polymer electrolyte membrane, a catalyst layer, a gas diffusion layer, and a separator are laminated in order is such that paste containing a conductive material and a solvent is prepared, the paste is applied to a portion coming in contact with the gas diffusion layer of the separator, and the separator is joined to the gas diffusion layer in a state that the gas diffusion layer is heated to a temperature exceeding the boiling point of the solvent contained in the paste. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
