PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exchange a stave-cooler without damaging the body of the stave-cooler for remaining flow and the water supply/exhaust tube. SOLUTION: A combining member, which is combined with the stave-cooler 1 projecting from the opening hole 4 in a blast furnace iron-shell 2 to the outside, is removed, and a plurality of blasting chemicals filling holes are bored in a monolithic refractory 9 between the stave-cooler 1 and the blast furnace iron-shell 2 through the opening hole 4 in the blast furnace iron-shell 2 appeared by the removal of the combining member. Then, the blasting chemicals of the amount without affecting the adjacent stave-cooler for existing flow are charged into the blasting chemicals filling hole, and the monolithic refractory 9 is cracked by blasting and the indefinite refractory 9 is crushed with water-jet 13 from the opening hole 4 in the blast furnace iron-shell 2. After removing the stave-cooler by being pushed to the furnace inside from the furnace wall, the stave-cooler is withdrawn to the out of the blast furnace, and after brushing down the remained monolithic refractory 9 into the furnace by utilizing the opening hole part in the blast furnace iron-shell, the stave-cooler for renewing is installed from the furnace inside.
