[Class 108 (i).] In ambulances in which a stretcher is carried by an undercarriage adapted to be placed in position in the vehicle the fitting or undercarriage upon which the stretcher is placed comprises two portions one of which is fixed to the vehicle and the other is mounted on the fixed portion and adapted for limited angular and longitudinal movements. The fixed portion comprises two spaced channels 22 secured to the vehicle by brackets 11, 12. The movable part comprises a wheeled carriage 10 adapted to run on the fixed portion and a pair of tubular &c. guides 13 for the stretcher wheels 7 the guides 13 being interconnected by transverse members one of which is pivoted to the carriage 20 so that the guides 13 may swivel in the horizontal plane and also move parallel to the fixed part. The guides 13 may be made in two telescopic parts so that their length may be varied and they may also be provided with caster wheels 20. A latch 31 operated by a Bowden wire 29 from a handle 26 is provided to secure the carriage 10 in either of its limiting positions.
