The present invention relates to a compound with a chemical formula 1 and an anion detecting method using the same, more particularly, to a compound with a chemical formula 1 generated by synthesizing squaric acid and an aromatic compound, and an anion detecting method. The compound with the chemical formula 1 is provided as an anion detecting dye for biological and environmental application, and utilizes as a chemical detecting sensor for detecting anions selectively or quantitatively.
