The carrier has a transparent film layer (3) on whose front side confidential information (1) is printed. An unrecognizable unit (U) provided behind the film layer renders the information on the film layer as unrecognizable. The front side of the film layer carries a structured imprint (15) not contributing to the information. The structured imprint is formed as dim or gloss depending on the film layer such that a gloss contrast is obtained at a non-covered surface. The imprint exhibits a smaller affinity than a toner or ink for printing the information.
