A liquid crystal display includes: first and second substrate (110,210) opposite to each other; data lines (171a-c) on the first substrate which transmits a first voltage; a voltage transmitting line (172) on the first substrate which transmits a second voltage; and first and second pixel electrodes (191a,191b) on the first substrate and spaced apart from each other, where one of the first and second pixel electrodes is applied with the first voltage through the data lines, the other of the first and second pixel electrodes is applied with the second voltage through the voltage transmitting line, each of the first and second pixel electrodes includes a stem (191a1,191a3;191b1,191b3) and branches (191a2,191a4;191b2,191b4) extending from the stem, the branches of the first pixel electrode and the branches of the second pixel electrode are alternately disposed, and stems of first and second pixel electrodes of a first pixel (PX1) and an adjacent second pixel (PX1) that are applied with the first voltage are disposed opposite to each other with respect to a data line (171a) disposed between the first pixel and the second pixel.
