The present invention relates to lithium manganese oxide and a method for manufacturing a positive active material for lithium secondary battery. Provided is lithium manganese oxide of uniform particle dispersion with D50 of 2-90 um and D5 with respect to D50 OF 20% or more. One example of the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a positive active material for lithium secondary battery comprising the steps of: preparing manganese oxides with D5 of 0.3-1.5 um and D50 of 3-7 um; mixing the pulverized manganese oxides and a lithium raw material; and plasticizing the manganese oxides mixed with the lithium raw material.
