418,917. Control of D.C. motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, Lndon.- (Assignees of Forsberg, P. W. ; c/o I.G.E. Co., 79, Avenue des Champs Elysees, Paris.) May 31, 1933, No. 15742. Convention date, June 15, 1932. [Class 38 (iii).] Regenerative braking; varying E.M.F.- A main variable-voltage generator 16, Fig. 2, and a mechanically coupled auxiliary generator 15, one connected in series, and in series with series-wound driving motors 10, 11. For regenerative braking, circuits including resistances 33, 34, Fig. 3, are completed, byepassing the auxiliary generator and the motor fields 12, 13, so that the motors are excited from the auxiliary generator. The generator fields 25, 26, are series connected and controlled by a single regulator 31, for motoring, Fig. 2, but for regenerative braking, Fig. 3, they are connected in parallel and separately controlled by regulators 30, 31, the generators are driven by a D.C. or A.C. motor supplied from high-tension lines. |
