PURPOSE: An ice maker driving device for a refrigerator and a driving method thereof are provided to accurately detect the existence of ice in an ice container by driving an ice sensing arm with a cam gear, thereby preventing malfunction. CONSTITUTION: An ice maker driving device for a refrigerator comprises a driving part(200), a cam gear(300), an operating part, and a magnetic lever(500). The driving part comprises a step motor and a hall IC. The cam gear is rotated by the step motor. A cam surface for an ice sensing arm is formed on the upside of the cam gear, and a cam surface for the hall IC is formed on the underside of the cam gear. The operating part comprises a driving lever organically interlocking along the cam surface for the ice sensing arm; and a spin lever vertically operating the ice sensing arm. The magnetic lever organically interlocks along the cam surface for the hall IC to be connected to or disconnected from a contact point of the hall IC. |
