The polymerisation system includes the following components: an initiation system consisting of an initiator, additives, Lewis acids and an optional diluent, said additives being selected from at least one organic compound containing a nitrogen, oxygen, sulphur or phosphorus atom; an aqueous reaction medium containing 3.5-100 vol. % water; monomer isoolefins and optional copolymerisable monomers and an optional dispersant. The present invention provides a cheap and easy to implement method.EFFECT: aqueous reaction medium provides a better dispersion system and high efficiency of heat transfer during polymerisation.
