FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in hammer shops for production of large-sized hollow parts from light alloy ingots. In proposed process, shortening and radial bilateral reduction of upset billet are performed by flat heads. Note here that billet is turned through 90 degrees after the first reduction and subsequent rolling of faces. Prior to shortening, ingot is pre-reduced. Reduction is performed on both sides by flat heads with billet turn through 90 degrees after first pass with subsequent rolling of faces. After radial reduction, billet is again reduced in at least two passes with its turn after every said pass. Then, finished semi-finished product is formed by final two-side reduction with billet turn through 90 degrees after first pass and rolling at flat heads. Spacing between opposite faces of pre-reduced ingot is defined by enclosed relationship.EFFECT: higher quality of finished products.3 cl, 6 dwg, 2 ex |
