A method of video cueing comprises: receiving a universal (reference, standard) clock signal; receiving telemetry data (e.g. GPS, or vehicle speed, direction, position or steering data) for one or more participants in a sporting event (e.g. Formula One motor racing, horse race, velodrome cycling, skiing, etc); and estimating the location of the or each participant along a predetermined route based upon their respective telemetry data. Then, with reference to the universal clock signal (time stamp), the respective time is detected at which the or each participant reaches a predetermined location (20A-D) along the route, estimated from their respective telemetry data; and, for video streams (e.g., from fixed trackside cameras 10A-D or mobile cameras with the sport participant) associated with one or more participants, a position of a plurality of respective video frames having a timing referenced to the universal clock signal corresponding to a detected respective time at which the or each participant reached the predetermined location is requested. Vehicle or participant timing data may be detected using timing units based on near-field, radio or infrared (IR) transponders, or optical patterns (barcodes, QR codes).
